Vida Afarebea Agyen, PhD

Vida Afarebea Agyen is a Development Economist and Auditor with a decade of professional and academic experience. She holds a PhD in Economics and specialises in microeconomics, quantitative methods and statistics, which she teaches at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Afarebea works as a freelance consultant for the Ghana Statistical Service. She doubled as a master trainer and data validation expert during the 2021 Population and Housing Census for Ghana. She works with the Ghana Audit Service and is also a researcher with the Retail Finance Distribution Research Initiative at the Institute of Statistical, Social, and Economic Research, University of Ghana, Legon. Her research interest is in development economics, with a focus on vulnerable populations, inequalities, health, education, and digital innovation.

Beyond academia, Afarebea is profoundly dedicated to community engagement, sharing knowledge and mentoring young girls to inspire their ambitions.
